Most of us know that the money is in the list. The more the emails we have on our list the more people we can sell/market the products and services to, but how do we collect these emails?
Yes, buying a genuine opted-in email list is one option, but that will cost money. Also, once you market to this list of emails that you bought, the chances are that a lot of them will opt-out because they did not sign-up on your website and are possibly not interested in your products/services. And the worst is if they mark you down as spam and junk because this can affect your domain deliverability rate thereby if a lot of people put you down as spam, you may end up not being able to deliver to people’s inbox but instead in the junk folder.
So, I hear you ask, what is the best way to collect emails for email marketing. The best and the free way to collect emails is right from your website by engaging your visitors with the content of the website. I know some of you might already have an e-mail sign-up option on your website and haven’t seen much success with it. But there are always ways, to make these e-mail sign-ups a little more engaging and you can even spice things up with offers that your visitors might be interested in.
The below are just some of the examples of the offers but of course you have to customise it to suit your products and services:
- Percentage of Discount on your products and/or services – E.g. Sign-up for newsletter and get 10% off your first order
- Free eBook – Sign-up with email and download a Free eBook on How to Make Vegan Cup Cakes or Increase More Sales Online (anything)
- Sign-up with Email to spin the wheel of fortune to win cool prizes and discounts
- Anything else that you believe your visitors may be interest in
The point is never let your visitors go without either getting a sale from them OR at the very least get their email address for you to follow-up with them in future.
